About the Spinal Cord Injury Support Group

Mission Statement

Spinal Cord Injury Support Group offers:

• Support to persons with spinal cord injury, neurological disorders and /or disabilities, and their families, caregivers and friends, as well as a place to get together with others finding themselves in a similar situation.
• Reflects the voice and concerns of persons with spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders and other disabilities.
• Provides a place where comfort, emotional support, and education regarding life with spinal cord injury, neurological disorders and other disabilities can be offered and obtained.

CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP IS FREE

SCISG Board of Directors

Spinal Cord Injury Support Group (SCISG) Board of Directors oversee all Chapters and members. It guides and supports each Chapter’s operation allowing focus on membership enhanced quality of life. Chapters as small as five or more disabled individuals can easily create and run a neighborhood chapter removing the transportation barrier most of our members face. Members are secure in knowing that the activities and events all have disabled access and support members are available to assist.

Social Activities

The Chapters are encouraged to hold monthly meetings and more importantly social events which are the heart of the group success: light suppers and cookouts, bowling, holiday parties, bingo, boat trips, skydiving, sailing, scuba diving, hand cycling, wheelchair basketball and rugby, marathons, cooking competitions and movie nights, and more!

Fundraising events including bake sales, carwashes, silent auctions, golf tournament, bowling tournament and other creative projects.
